New Class Schedule for Session II

Beginning Oct 28th, 2013

Mondays 6:30 P.M. - 8:30 P.M.
Intermediate Drawing
This class is a continuation of drawing 101 & 102 Fundimentals.
You will be able to choose the medium and subject matter and spend the class time exploring the different techniques and skills learned in earlier classes. A still life will be set up or you may bring your own images/objects to draw from. You will learn how to start and complete a "Finished" drawing you would be proud to hang up.
Materials List: Your choice of Charcoal, Graphite or Pen, good drawing paper at least 11" x14", and a drawing board.

Drawing Fundamentals 101
Weeks 1-2 The importance of Line
Weeks 3-4 Circle Square Triangle
Weeks 5-6 Value and associated techniques
Weeks 7-8 Putting them all together
Materials List: Soft Vine Charcoal, Ebony Pencil or a B4, B6 or B8 pencil, 18" x 24" Newsprint Pad, Kneaded Erasure, Gum Erasure

Drawing Fundamentals 102
Weeks 1-2 Positive & Negative Space & Composition
Weeks 3-4 Perspective
Weeks 5-6 Light on Dark
Week 7-8 Putting it all together
Materials List: Soft Vine Charcoal, White Charcoal pencil or Conte Crayon, Ebony Pencil or a B4, B6 or B8 pencil, 18" x 24" Newsprint Pad, Kneaded Erasure, Gum Erasure

Look closely at how she is holding the pencil. "Light to Dark" remember? Star off lightly, identify your values, build them as you go..."Don't try to finish a drawing without starting it first."
